As immigrants across the U.S. continue to have their human rights compromised, with HB 411(LA), SB 1070(AZ), HB 87(GA), and other copycat legislation, Hip Hop artist Truth Universal responds with “Immigrant” — the lead single from his latest project “Resistance Vol. 2: Polygraph.” Himself a Trinidad born immigrant, raised in New Orleans, LA, Truth strives to address the plight of the U.S. immigrant, cite the commonality of immigrant struggle regardless of the land of origin, and challenge the contradictions of U.S. immigration enforcement policy. Amidst the sonic backdrop crafted by DJ Black Panther, Mexican born MC, Bocafloja, assists Truth in his commentary on the subject.
This Year Will Be The Year Of The Cat!
Here we are at the end of another Year and I’m reflecting back on 2010. This past year has been a year of change and personal growth for me. At this time last year I was living in another country and I had just started working on my next project “The Soul Eater”. In the course of this year, I have moved back to the states and reestablished myself back in New York again, the city of my birth, my home and the place that has shaped me musically the most. I have seen my label ManekinekoPro grow and grow, and all the new projects have gotten me to a place of true optimism. I have a ILL Team. The Soul Eater album is culmination I my travels and experiences of the last year, my influences, the music I’ve heard and the people that I have met. I would like to thank all the artist that have contributed to my personal journey and made this possible. I would like to thank all those I have met here and abroad over the past year. This is your album as well. Also, I would like to thank all those that have fronted, because you have played your part. Lastly, for all of those that have donated to help bring my next project to another level you are the reason I make music.

Rap4Fame will be putting out the third part of its compilation-series this December!
While hardly no one will have heard of the German website Rap4Fame thus far and even less of you will be familiar with the first two installments mostly containing tracks by German artists, this third part might be interesting for you. Especially because we had almost exclusively German acts on our first parts, we got at some of America’s finest artists to contribute for the next round. Since we didn’t just want to shoot for a collection of tracks thrown but not fitting together, all the artists involved, lots of them ranging from Eastcoast or Midwest, show a mental kinship regarding the music they make. So those of you who step into the underground scene from time to time, where the legacy of BoomBap music is progressively being carried on, might be familiar with some of the names. Contributions can be found from Manekinekopro, Respect Tha God Creative Juices, Monsta Island Czars, Backwoodz Studioz, Godilla ,Johnny23 Records, Molemen, Lost Children Of Babylon and furthermore from artists like Reef The Lost Cauze, SoulStice, Main Flow, Verbal Kent, Infinito 2017, A.G., Qwazaar, L.I.F.E. Long, Iomos Marad, Jak Progresso and more. Shaz ILLYork
Born Robert Rodriguez on January 13, 1983, and raised in Astoria, Queens, New York City, Shaz grew up in a broken home. He started life on the streets from an early age. His family moved around all corners of Queens; Astoria, Woodhaven, Howard Beach, and Jamaica giving young Shaz a sample of the multiple cultures that dwell in New York City. He was only eleven when he realized his passion for lyrics and rhyme with the help of two radios. Money was scarce and it wasn’t long until he dove deeper into the hip hop world through a life of graffiti, hustling, and racking.
In October 2004, Shaz’s years of delinquent behavior got himself arrested and put away for 5 years. It was during his prison stint that he found music and writing again. Shortly after his release in ‘09, Shaz began performing at open mics, most notably Manhattan’s revered “End of the Weak”, the longest running open mic series at Club Pyramid. These cultivated performances gave this artist on the rise much recognition and acclaim. His escalating following led him to release the single Pain Killers in July 2010 and received over 10,000 views on youtube.com.
Shaz, now 27, knows no bounds in getting his music across to mainstream ears. His debut EP, High, Fly & Broke (October 2010), is homage to where he has been, where he is now, and where he is going.

Beyond Race Magazine (BRM) is a quarterly magazine based in New York primarily centered on independent and emerging artists, covering music, film, and other arts, such as literature, graffiti, tattooing, and visual arts. The publication also reports heavily on progressive issues and culture, in general.
Founded in 2006 by David Terra, the magazine has steadily grown both in circulation and visibility.[1]

There will be four Shows in New York for Artist to compete in to win a chance to perform two shows in the European Festival. Each participant will pay $250 to be included into the contest. And judges along with crowd response will determine the winner. The same format will apply for our Dancer contest and graph contest (graph artist will have a chance to participate/submit a piece of work based on the event). I would love to thank everybody that came out last night to the show last night “Somebody Is Gonna Get Pregnant” And for all those who couldn’t make it you missed a very memorable show. Great performances By Shagan Walks, Taylor Hooker Stevenson, GRLFRNZ, White Fang Pawless, La Comby Perfecta & Chuggo. Even through all the technical sound difficulties White Fang Put on a great show. Hip Hop can’t be stopped and like any great artist White Fang and His Crew Push through there set Winner over the Crowds Support.
