Tone Liv

Tone Liv-

In the over-saturated hip hop realm of throwback gimmicks and bleak failures glossed and packaged as “creative and groundbreaking”, it has become difficult for many of today’s emcees to pull themselves above the throng and deliver anthems that convey street authenticity as well as creative evolution. Tone Liv, a.k.a Da Mayor, manages to crawl his way out of the malaise of this wasteland of clichés and deliver on both fronts in a way that captivates without alienating; despite the fact that Tone may very well be from another planet. Or maybe just New Jersey. In a state that has spawned such historic rap powerhouses as Redman, Rah Digga, and the Artifacts; Tone is determined to forge his own place in this legacy simply by being himself and commanding acknowledgment. Subjecting his formative years to such insanely brilliant emcees as Ghostface Killah, MF Doom, and Freddie Foxx, Tone administers doses of lethal street venom with enough abstract adjectives to mash his way across the disjointed spectrum of “genres” and bludgeon the listener in the barrage, while bearing a vocal tone similar to Chief Kamachi.

Tone often chooses beats that make you feel like you have warped into a psychotic decaying street kingdom where he presides as Mayor and rap overlord, relying on distorted and obsolete sounds to splash the listener with a psychedelic vision of the way Tone sees his world; doused in dim lights, gutter slime, liquor, blood, and graffiti.

With an obsessive work ethic fueled by beer; Tone has waved the banner of the Green Llama collective proudly, appearing on several of their releases, specifically Dibiase’s “Llamaville”, Uncut Raw’s “Heavy Dose”, City Slick’s “Antique Black”, Decay “Unlikely Hero” & “Unlikely Villain”, among others. He has also released a few of his own projects such as “Beer for Breakfast” and the “Birth of Doggie Jones”. He will soon be unleashing more of your grimiest nightmares into the world in the forms of “Superhero Sandwiches” the album, a collaboration with Llama warp-out producer Vincent Price entitled “Only built for Timberland Boots”, and The Remarkable Mayor’s “The Campaign.

Sammy Bravo Sammy Bravo – Upon meeting Sammy Bravo, you know right away that his two decade career in Hip Hop has molded him into one of the greatest minds in the business – a force to be reckoned with on and off the mic. With razor sharp delivery on some of the hottest tracks created while building his multi-media entertainment group, Sammy Bravo is the quintessential go-getter.

Never using poverty as a crutch, Sammy overcame the death infused streets of Washington, DC. Against the backdrop of crime, poverty and violence buried deep in the heart of the most powerful city in the world, Sammy turned to hip hop to relieve the anguish and hopelessness surrounding him and in doing so provided the soundtrack for the city. His distinct voice and effortless delivery caught fire in DC and he soon joined The Beggas – part of the Wu Tang family. His career skyrocketed once the group was featured on Rza Presents: The Killa Beez (The Swarm Album). Sammy rose to international fame touring around the world.
Sammy’s success could’ve stopped there – but that wouldn’t be Sammy! Seeing a need to change the “status quo” of the music business, Sammy founded BancVault Entertainment Group. “I was tired of the experiences I faced when dealing with record companies…someone always wanted to be the middleman and it was difficult to speak to anyone regarding MY CAREER! So I decided to change that.” Says Sammy on why he decided to create BancVault. Since that decision, BancVault Entertainment Group has grown into a multi-media company encompassing all aspects of artists’ needs – EmageView (Video & Film): BancVault Records: 17th & B (Management): KraftWorks (Recording); YEURO (Clothing) and acrossthefader.com – a hip hop social networking website with streaming video and internet radio. Initially created to as a vehicle to give Sammy the reigns to take charge and steer his own career, Sammy created a path for younger artists to follow. Platforms where they can be seen, heard, and most importantly control their careers.
Always on the grind, always relevant and constantly evolving, Sammy Bravo knows that the future of hip hop in not in the hands of the record companies – hip hop’s future lies in the hands of artists like himself – whose dedication, hard work and love of the craft inspire the masses to live, love and dream. Sammy Bravo is a gifted emcee. The depths of his words awaken the conscious. His energy resonates throughout the venues during his live performances for an unforgettable experience. A legend in DC, Sammy is known and loved. Sammy Bravo is also a trailblazing entrepreneur. His website, television and internet radio shows are creating a blueprint for future artists to follow. Sammy Bravo is indeed the total package – Two decades in the making…and just beginning.
