Beyond Race Magazine (BRM) is a quarterly magazine based in New York primarily centered on independent and emerging artists, covering music, film, and other arts, such as literature, graffiti, tattooing, and visual arts. The publication also reports heavily on progressive issues and culture, in general.

Founded in 2006 by David Terra, the magazine has steadily grown both in circulation and visibility.[1]

Along with in-depth features on musicians and artists, each issue also covers social and political topics and has several pages devoted to album reviews. Past issues have covered Dub Trio, the Beastie Boys, Garland Jeffreys, Donnell Rawlings, Hi-Tek, Subatomic Sound System, and Nada Surf.

The magazine has been an active supporter of New York City’s diverse arts and music scene. Every year Beyond Race magazine hosts a party for their Music Issue that highlights artists from across the broad spectrum of genres flourishing in the five boroughs from electronic to reggae to hip hop to rock and everything in between.

Manekinekopro Artist Respect Tha God has been running high off his debut release “The Life and Times of Russell Ballenger” and will be touring with the legendary group Nice and Smooth and Black Sheep. Respect will be appearing along side these great acts in France, Sweden and Belgium. Nice and Smooth as you know them from their hip hop classics “Sometimes I rhyme Slow, Hip Hop Junkies and Funky For You just name a few have solidified themselves in the hearts and minds of Hip Hop itself . And Black Sheep as members of the Native Tongues exploded on the scene with such hits as “Flavor of the Month” “The Choice Is Yours” and with there unique quirky style they have been a hip hop staple. We are still in the midst of the 12 week leak from Respect, And the “I Rap 4 “single has been pushing its way up the charts. Also out now is Nine’s Mixtape album “Shots Fired” with all new music from the nine. Stay tuned and as always Support good music, because it supports you!!
